Transfer Station

This is a self-haul service for residents in areas without curbside collection. By paying a monthly fee, customers are responsible for transporting their own trash and recyclables to the local Transfer Station. This service is required by all the residences of Mammoth Lakes who own a 1 or 2 unit complex.

Monday–Saturday: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Sunday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM ‍

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

Fridays & Saturdays only: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Accepted Materials & Services

Residential Account Holders (Town of Mammoth Lakes ONLY)

Up to 110 gallons (or 3 bags) of green waste/pine needles per day at no charge.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

Accepted free of charge for all customers
Accepted Fridays and Saturdays only (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

Scrap Value Recycling

Accepted free of charge for all customers.
Non-CRV Plastics #1/#2, glass, aluminum, tin, thin/corrugated cardboard, and metal accepted.
Mattresses in good condition are recycled for no additional charge.
Buyback recycling center for CRV materials is located on-site.

Green Waste (over limit or non-account holders): charged per 96-gallon bag, cubic yard, or ton.
Construction & Demolition Debris: Limited to 8 cubic yards per day; fees apply.
Bulky items, Appliances & Electronics: disposal fees apply.
Some Account Holders (including Mono County/out-of-area customers); Gate fee applies.
